The New Short Plays for INK Festival 2024
STAGE PLAYS
The short play lies at the very heart of the INK Festival. It’s a remarkable art form: flexible, anarchic, and utterly unpredictable. The way the festival has evolved into ‘PODS’ allows us to place four or five entirely different worlds next to each other in the same space. It not only shows off the versatility of the actors, but the almost crazy variety of ideas that are sent to us every year. Enjoy.

Every year we invite a handful of the great and good to try their hand at scripting a short play. And every year we are delighted by the quality of their submissions. It is no mean feat to craft a scene from an idea. (This year they were asked to feature a key or set of keys in their piece) These writers are testament to the fact that the short play format should be an accessible art form for all. And hopefully an inspiration to those of you who might feel the itch to put pen to paper. This year’s famous crop, collectively The INKredibles, are scattered around the various venues so keep a weather eye out for one or two.
