David Morrissey

David Morrissey is an English actor and filmmaker, widely recognized for his roles as Gordon Brown in The Deal (2003), Stephen Collins in State of Play (2003), and The Governor in The Walking Dead (2012–2015).

Born in Liverpool, Morrissey developed a passion for acting early on, joining the Everyman Youth Theatre before training at RADA. He gained early fame in One Summer (1983) and built a successful career across stage and screen, including performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre.

Beyond acting, he has directed projects like Sweet Revenge (2001), Passer By (2004), and Don't Worry About Me (2010). He has earned critical acclaim, including a BAFTA nomination and an RTS Best Actor award. In 2016, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Edge Hill University.
