WHAT TO EXPECT

As a member of the volunteer team, we want you to have a great time because we love what we do and the people we work with.

As a registered charity and small arts organisation, we couldn’t operate without our volunteers. In return you will be part of our team, meet new people and see fantastic shows.

Volunteers can choose which days they work and the hours they can spare.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

  • Venue Steward and Park and Ride

As a venue steward, you will assist with reading tickets, organising seating, managing crowd flow, tidying the venue and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

For Park and Ride, volunteers will marshal cars and support new arrivals.

  • Box Office & Pop-Up Shop Support

Help festival-goers with ticket purchases, offer event information and assist at our pop-up shop on Halesworth Thoroughfare. This role involves direct interaction with attendees, ensuring everyone has an enjoyable festival experience.

  • Accessibility Support

Provide additional support to guests who may have accessibility needs, ensuring they can enjoy all aspects of the festival comfortably and easily.

  • General Support

Assist with any other tasks as needed to ensure everything runs smoothly—from helping to set up venues to troubleshooting issues. This includes physical lifting and road sign erection.

IS THIS YOU?

We're looking for friendly, patient individuals who enjoy engaging with the public and can handle the occasional tricky situation with professionalism.

For some roles you’ll need the stamina to be on your feet and move between venues throughout the day. Familiarity with Halesworth will help, but is not essential. For other roles we need you to be familiar with internet ticket booking, taking payments and solving customer issues.

Opportunities include:

  • BEFORE THE FESTIVAL: decorating spaces, putting up signs and bunting

  • USHERS: venue overseers, ushers, help desks, box offices

  • TRANSPORT: parking marshals, shuttle bus marshals

  • MONDAY: schools day support, breakdown and some heavy lifting.

  • DECORATING AND SIGNAGE: helping Halesworth look its best wtih bunting and signage.

Perks for Volunteers

As a valued volunteer you will be given an all-access wristband which will allow you to attend any show or day event over the 4 days of the festival - as long as there is room after paying visitors are seated. (This won’t get you into the evening events I am afraid).

Just fill in the form and wait to hear from us.
