Helen Atkinson Wood

Helen Atkinson-Wood is an English actress and comedian, best known for her role as Mrs. Miggins in Blackadder the Third.

She studied fine art at the Ruskin School, Oxford University, where she performed alongside Rowan Atkinson and took part in Oxford University Drama Society productions. She later appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where she met Ben Elton.

Atkinson-Wood was a regular on Radio Active and its TV adaptation KYTV, as well as appearing in The Young Ones, Joking Apart, and Doctor Who audio dramas. She has hosted Collector’s Lot and made guest appearances on Call My Bluff and QI.

Beyond television and radio, she has an extensive stage career, performing in productions such as The Voysey Inheritance, The Magistrate, and The Miser at the Royal Exchange, Manchester.
