INK is the UK’s leading producer of original short plays, known for our unique approach of producing all the plays we showcase. Since our founding in 2014, we’ve brought over 500 new plays to life on stage and radio, written by both first-time and experienced playwrights, ranging in age from 8 to 80.
Based in Halesworth, Suffolk, we are a theatre company and charity committed to encouraging and supporting scriptwriters. We provide writers with the opportunity to submit new work, have it read, and for some, the chance to see their creations professionally produced and performed at our annual INK Festival.

INK was the brain chlid of two producers seeing how hard it was as a screenwriter to get onto the ladder. What has stemmed from it is bigger, better and wilder than they ever imagined. The aim being to encourage and support scriptwriters, giving an opportunity for writers to submit new work, have it read and then, for some, the opportunity to see their work produced and performed by professional actors at the annual INK Festival.
