INK are very excited to announce that the new writing stage play, ‘Role Play’, by Thea Smiley will be performed in a dramatised rehearsed reading at HighTide Festival in September.
INK are always thrilled to hear of the successes of our writers, and the springboard onto platforms that their new writing has found.
‘Role Play’ by Thea Smiley has been selected to be performed in a live, dramatised rehearsed reading at the HighTide Festival in Suffolk in September 2016.
‘I face death, disease and depression every time I go to work, and I’ve never been happier.’
‘Jo has a challenging new job as a medical role player, but when her mother moves in, daughter drops out, and her husband leaps to wrong conclusions, the pressure to fulfil her role pushes her to breaking point. Can she save herself? Or will someone else prescribe the perfect remedy?’
Premiered as a short play at INK Festival 2016, ‘Role Play’ is a comedy about the roles we choose and the we are forced to play, and the importance of just being ourselves.
